‘Perspectives’

I created "Perspectives" as a follow up to my 2021 exhibition "The Right Thing". I began to explore and document my subjective existence of coming out of all lockdown restrictions in 2022. I found it interesting when exhibition visitors last year expressed to me that my paintings triggered in them emotions and feelings akin to childhood memories. Their conspicuous observations influenced and became my main focus for ‘Perspectives’. I examined a duality of emotive responses to the opening up of a society after being in lockdown.

What did it suddenly mean;

To be able to go in — and come out —

To go under — and to climb over —

To explore the ends of the earth —

To run with the wind —

To dance the nights away — To go the whole nine yards, so to speak?
